Overall planning competitive dialogue 1st prize
The development of the campus up to the year 2050 is to be defined in a strategic target plan. How can approx. 120'000 m2 of additional uses be accommodated to complement the outstanding architectural monument from the 1960s?
Several interconnected parks and green spaces integrate the campus into nature. A clinic and research centre with strong integration into nature will be created in keeping the motto 'Get healthy and work in the green'.
The extension buildings are generated from the logic of the listed existing buildings and continue this logic. The clear formal language gives them their own identity and makes the Charité more visible in the city.
Other topics relevant to the design are urban sustainability, flexibility, forward-looking mobility and the unbundling of the various access points in terms of traffic.
