In 1989, five competitions were announced as part of the Luzernerring/Burgfelderplatz development plan, and we won the tender for the retirement centre.
Changes in the operating concept (from retirement flats to nursing home) and the developer led to several projects and made it possible to start construction only in 1995.
The project consists of two parts: a 72-bed nursing home along the Luzernerring and a 60-bed Rochadehaus on Burgfelderstrasse, which is to be converted into flats for the elderly at a later date. The concept takes into account the immission-rich location on the two traffic axes, but above all takes as its theme the relationship of the individual living area to the residential community as well as to the public space.
